This affordable plan can help you continue to provide for your family if an illness or accident keeps you from earning a living.

You can receive $500 to $10,000 in monthly disability benefits to replace lost income at a time when it matters most.

• NEW Compassionate Care Benefit gives you a lump-sum three-month benefit amount allowing you to take time off from work to take care of a family member diagnosed with a terminal illness.
• Premiums waived. If you become totally disabled before age 65, the premiums due after the waiting period will be waived while you are disabled.
• Tax break. If you (not your employer or partnership) pay your premiums, your benefit payments may not be taxable. Check with the Canada Revenue Agency for more information.
• Automatic cost of living adjustment. To keep up with inflation, your monthly benefits will be adjusted based on the Consumer Price Index (up to 5%).
